New Brunswick winters demand more from luxury SUVs than style and comfort. From the Saint John River Valley's unpredictable freeze-thaw cycles to coastal storms rolling in from the Bay of Fundy, drivers need vehicles engineered for genuine winter confidence. Lexus hybrid all-wheel-drive systems deliver precisely that combination—refined performance paired with intelligent traction management...
For generations, the Lexus RX has been a leader in the compact luxury sports utility vehicle sphere. Indeed, as much as Lexus was the first Japanese luxury manufacturer to make a splash in North America, the RX was one of the first vehicles in its segment and many lessons have been learned along the way.
For 2023, the RX has been totally redesigned, bringing new powertrains – including the all-new RX 500h – new styling and new interior tech. Let's take a look at everything you find in the 2023 Lexus RX.
Impressive hybrid performance in the new 2023 Lexus RX
Let's start with the top-of-the-line Lexus RX 500h, the most powerful Lexus hybrid vehicle ever built. Good for 367 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, it has the performance to back up its hot looks. An eight-speed automatic transmits all that power to all four wheels. Despite reaching 100 km/h in just over 6.0 seconds, the new RX 500h averages less than 10.0 litres per 100 kilometres.
While the RX 500h does make the most power, there are two other models in the lineup that pack a punch of their own: the RX 350 (the only non-hybrid model in the redesigned RX lineup) gets a turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, while the RX 350h gets a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain that makes 246 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque and most importantly, gets by using just 7.1L/100 km of fuel.
And that’s not all: expect a plug-in hybrid version soon with a larger battery that could be good for up to 60 km of EV range, if the NX 450+ is any indication.
The high-tech reaches beyond the powertrain, of course. Inside, we find the latest version of Lexus infotainment, called “Lexus Interface” punctuated by a 14” central display with a more responsive touchscreen and faster processing speed. Wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay are also included as well as “Hey Lexus” voice commands. Your virtual assistant can find restaurants, and addresses from your contact list or even adjust your climate control system.
This and a lot more await you with the new 2023 Lexus RX, so come visit us to find out more!
